cool It's tough, but facts can be stated, and the process discussed without revealing one's political leaning. Just be sure that you consult several sources for verification (not partisan blogs) and say positive things about all candidates. Don't ever let the discussion break down to ad hominum attacks.

Good advice!  The same can be said about sports teams college and pro. The sport team discussions can be much more heated than politics from what I have experienced.
