Susan Fenner is the manager of education and professional development for the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), where she serves as the liaison to the outsourced, award-winning OfficePRO magazine, published eight times a year. She oversees the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) program and contracts with speakers for the annual International Convention and Educational Forum, a two-and-a-half-day professional education conference hosted by IAAP each spring. Each year, she creates a one-and-a-half-hour activity that includes trainer materials and participant activities and handouts. It is conducted in the US and Canada with more than 2,000 office professionals. Topics include customer service, continuous improvement, business etiquette, problem solving, workplace trends, communication among the generations and teamwork.

She has worked with the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS) Examination program and the Office Proficiency and Assessment Certification (OPAC)® software program, and coventured with Minolta on a major research study to track changes in office trends as they relate to technology and with Panasonic to assess stress in the modern office. She coordinated research with American College Testing (ACT) to define secretarial responsibilities and evaluate the competencies measured by the CPS Examination. She paired with the Gallup Organization to measure perceptions of the secretarial profession and to collect information on membership recruitment and retention.

Susan is the general editor of the Complete Office Handbook (three editions), published by Random House, and consultant for Prentice Hall's The Professional Secretary's Book of Lists and Tips. She is regularly asked to write forwards and provide quotes for business books, such as You Want Me to Do What? When, Where and How to Draw the Line at Work; Working Woman's Communications Survival Guide: How to Present Your Ideas with Impact, Clarity, and Power and Get the Recognition You Deserve; Power and Wisdom: The New Path for Women; and Alleviating Prepress Anxiety: How to Manage Your Print Projects for Savings, Schedule, & Quality.
