Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this:

I previously worked as an unpaid intern at the hospital I am filling out an online application for. The position was through school, for college credit. There is a question on the application asking if I have worked for the hospital before and I'm unsure whether that counts as working for the hospital. I would lean towards yes, but I want to be sure.

It might not be worth stressing out about, as they are expecting my application and probably going to hire me anyway, but I would still like to put myself forth as a professional candidate despite a friendly relationship.

To be honest, this is something every company has its own view on.
I would personally lean to answering yes, but I can see how no could also be a valid answer.
The easiest way to resolve this is to contact the recruiting department of the company and ask for where they stand on the matter.

Stijnhommes' suggestion to contact the employer is excellent.

The correct answer depends on how the question is phrased. If the form asks if you were ever "employed by" the hospital, technically the answer is no. But it's best to check with the HR department and see how they would like you to answer that question.
