Hi Helpmerockit,

Thanks for posting your resume to this forum. Here are a few ideas for improving your resume, and they apply to the purchasing agent resume that you posted as well:

- Convert the "Objective" section into a "Qualifications Summary." It's good that you included your career goal, but the content is very focused on your needs. I wouldn't say anything about wanting to benefit yourself -- focus on how you would benefit the employer. If you convert this section to a summary section, the emphasis will be on what you bring to the table -- the skills, experience, and accomplishments that would be valuable to a prospective employer.

- Add accomplishments to your "Employment" section. You can write about contracts that you negotiated and the favorable terms that you secured; monetary savings as a result of your purchasing skills; selection of vendors that positively impacted the company; and so on. Here's a link to a resume sample for an accounts payable specialist -- check out how accomplishments were added to the "Key Results" section for each job:

- Reorder your bullets based on the career goal. Your AP/AR version should have your AP/AR-related duties and accomplishments listed first, and your purchasing agent version should have your procurement-related accomplishments listed first.

I hope this is helpful! Wishing you good luck in your job search.
Best wishes,
Kim Isaacs
