Hi Joe101,

Thank you for posting your resume! You have some good content, but I see a few areas that could be improved. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

- Consider setting this up as a combination resume instead of a functional resume. It looks like you have a steady work history with progressively responsible experience, so your resume would likely be more effective if you listed your job duties and accomplishments under the correct employer. Here's a link to a sample resume for an accounts payable specialist that's in combination format:
Accounts Payable Resume Sample

- Highlight recent achievements. For example, while I agree that it's impressive that you earned a Great Performer Award, it happened 12 years ago. I wouldn't omit it (you can move it to the corresponding job), but I would reserve space in the Qualifications Summary for more recent achievements.

- Proofread. Your resume has errors that detract from your overall message. This is especially important for you to fix as you are emphasizing attention to detail. For example, in your second sentence that mentions attention to detail, there shouldn't be a comma before the word "and." Be sure to hyphenate compound adjectives (e.g., "high-volume department"). I know these seem minor, but little changes like this can help the reader focus on your qualifications vs. the writing style.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you!
Best wishes,
Kim Isaacs
