I have worked for the same company for 10 years. However, I started out as the corporate secretary. Then moved onto assistant manager in one corporate store, then transferred to General Manager of another corporate store and when I increased sales and revenue at that store I was transferred to another corporate store as General Manager and again increased sales and revenue (actually being the first store to hit $1,000,000 in annual sales). My question is how to put this on my resume? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi jenjen3872,

Your accomplishments and career progression are amazing! Are you asking how to list multiple positions? If so, you can try something like this:

XYZ Company - City, ST
General Manager, ABC Store, Dates
General Manager, DEF Store, Dates
Assistant Manager, Dates
Advanced through increasingly responsible positions, culminating in oversight for ABC Store generating $X in sales and employing __. (Describe your responsibilities...)

At the end of the paragraph, you can mention that you started as a corporate secretary and list any other early positions.

After your brief paragraph describing the scope of your responsibilities, include a bulleted list of your strongest accomplishments.

Would this work for you?
Best wishes,

Should that be the only job I list, since it has been 10 years? Or should I use a functional resume and list all management positions for other companies also (some going back as far as 15+ years)?

I think the usual guide is ten years, but if you have space to fill, go ahead and list other jobs in field if relevant, so you don't look like a one-trick pony ---ABCs way is the only way. But if you want managerial, keep it so, though list all positions in latest company.. this is not the time to mention yuour teenage mowing job, even if you manage an implement store.

Btw, be prepared to answer why you're leaving abc after ten years, without asigning blame.
