Hi Jamesnjodie,

Thanks for posting your resume to this forum! You have a great start, but here are a few ideas for improvement:

- Include a specific job target. The manufacturing headline and functional areas you list in the summary are a good start, but you haven't mentioned your area of specialty. If you are targeting automotive paint tech positions, include that in the summary section.

- Add more accomplishments. Your work history would be much more compelling if you included more results/outcomes of your work for each one of your positions.

- Create a balanced work history. You have older experience with extensive text (for example, your experience from 1996-2002 almost reads like a job description) whereas more recent positions are only given short blurbs.

- Un-bold "On hold" for your bachelor's degree program. It's good that you're being upfront about the status of the program, but you don't have to give it extra emphasis by using bold and underlining.

- Thoroughly proofread your resume and correct any errors (for example, extra letter "m" in the word "developed" and incorrect spelling of "instrumentation"). Typos detract from your resume's message and can cause your resume to be discarded even though you have excellent qualifications.
Best wishes,

Kim,
Again this person left eir personal info online. I know you can't mother-hen everyone, but schadenfreude over a careless vulnerabilty taken advantage of, isn't pretty either.

I really don't know how else to warn people upfront, other than you have. But only can prevent ...well in your case, identity theft, not a forest fire.:-)
